A look at Apple Watch clones in India marketed by celebrities who use Apple Watch

Apple Watch clones from Noise, Fire-Boltt, Helix India and others, are gaining popularity in India, using the same design, user interface and features as Apple’s popular smartwatch. So much so that Indian celebrities who have been photographed wearing the Apple Watch are now endorsing its clones as “India’s #1 wearable watch brand” such as cricket star Virat Kholi, producer and director Karan Johar, actress Kareena Kapoor and many more.

In addition to setting up manufacturing units, Apple officially started selling its products in India in 2020. During its Q3 2022 earnings call, the company reported promising sales in emerging markets including India, Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia.

However, it looks like the tech giant may face competition from local smartwatch makers who sell Apple Watch clones in India and use Bollywood and sports celebrities to promote their low- to mid-range Apple Watch clones from Noise and Fire-Boltt with similar design language, dials and other features.

Apple Watch clones in India offer watch faces, workout metrics and other such features for a fraction of the price

There are numerous smartwatch brands in the market from manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus and others that offer a few healthy features like Apple’s smartwatch, but none have cloned its design and user interface to a T.

The ColorFit series by Noise and the Ninja series by Fire-Boltt are Apple Watch clones that have the same rectangular design with curved edges and a Digital Crown or side button. But the straps are not removable and cannot be changed.

The low- to mid-range smartwatches come in 43mm or 44mm sizes and feature customizable watch faces with date, time, time, heart rate, steps, and more complications that share the same layout as the Apple Watch user interface.

For example, the watch faces, pink, green, and blue activity rings, the metrics displayed in the workout app, the call interface, and other elements are copied from Apple’s smartwatch.

However, there is a huge difference in prices. The Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $531 (₹41,900.00) in India, while the ColorFit series starts at $50.70 (₹4,000) and the Ninja series starts at $63.38 (₹5,000).

More interestingly, the celebrities endorsing the Noise and Fire-Boltt smartwatches are actually Apple Watch users. This is not unheard of as celebrities often endorse products even though they use other brands.

In a social media post for the Fire-Boltt, famous Indian cricketer Virat Kholi promoted the watch, saying it offers multi-faceted health features. He also wears an Apple Watch, as seen in his Instagram posts from August 23, 2020, October 18, 2020, and more.

Actress Kareen Kapoor Khan’s Instagram post touted the Fire-Boltt Ring 3 smartwatch, saying it helps her stay fit by allowing her to track her fitness. However, she also posted a photo on Instagram of herself wearing an Apple Watch with a pink braided band. On April 18, 2021, she also shared a photo of her step total on an Apple smartwatch.
