Dangan Entertainment Announces 5 Independent Demos at BitSummit X-Roads

Dangan Entertainment announced today (August 5, 2022) the five major titles that will be presented online at the upcoming Japanese indie game event BitSummit X-Roads on August 6 and 7.

According to the announcement, the company will release demo versions of Recall: Empty Wishes, The Witch’s House MV, and Loretta on Steam during BitSummit. This will happen alongside an update for the currently available Hunt the Night and Tactical Galactical demos. As for The Witch’s House MV, which is already available on PC, it will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox (currently unknown if these will be current or last-gen console versions) in the second half of 2022 Mr.


Remember: wishful thinking

Recall: Empty Wishes, releasing in the second quarter of 2023, is a psychological thriller set in Taiwan in 2010. It is currently being developed by Hook Puff Studio, a Taiwanese developer, and is made to reflect the culture of Taiwanese students during time. The story is centered around Tommy Lynn’s investigation, the player will enter the characters’ memories and uncover hidden truths. The game has non-linear storytelling and combines elements of fantasy along with horror, mystery and puzzle solving. An official trailer was also released.

The demo version available during Bitsummit will allow players to experience the opening two chapters of the story.

The Witch’s House MV

The Witch’s House is an iconic Japanese horror RPG with a heavy emphasis on puzzle solving and jump scares. The new game completely reimagines the graphics and implements new difficulty modes with more events and dialogue. According to the developer, there’s a new difficulty available that allows for instant retry, and a harder one that’s only unlocked if players reach the true ending. The developer and publisher are treating this game as a completely new experience and hope that players will enjoy the new content that will be unlocked after the first playthrough.

Loretta is a mature psychological thriller that deals with themes of betrayal, infidelity, relationship problems and social situations that were present in America during the last century. Players will have the freedom to choose dialogue, interact with objects, and make decisions involving assassination and stealth. The game draws inspiration from noir films, Stephen King, Alfred Hitchcock and Nabakov’s novel Lolita. Players are free to decide the fate of the characters and the game will have multiple endings. Loretta’s release date on Steam just says “Coming Soon”.

Night Hunt

Hunt the Night is a retro-style action-adventure that combines fast-paced gameplay with dark fantasy. The story takes place in the ninth age of humanity, where the day is ruled by humans and the night by vicious creatures. As one of the few remaining humans, you will learn to use the power of darkness to fight the night. Players have a wide variety of melee and ranged attacks and can create their own preferred builds and upgrade their gear as needed. The game’s release date has yet to be determined.

Tactical Galactic

Tactical Galactical combines real-time hex strategy mechanics with card combat. Each of the three available commanders will fight for control of a planet with their own unique deck of cards. The battlefield is always changing and the game will require quick decision making. The game will feature both single player and multiplayer modes where players can engage in 1v1 or 2v2 matches. It will also support cross-play on all platforms. The game’s release date has yet to be determined.

The Tactical Galactical Bitsummit demo will have a new training system, an updated scenario, and new dialogue with more characters. New sound design, battle maps, and an expanded final battle, in addition to updated graphics, guides, and controller support.
