H&M launches its new activewear line with a campaign featuring Jane Fonda

H&M is on a mission to get everyone moving.

Today, the popular retailer debuts its newest brand, H&M Move, a collection of activewear essentials that combine fashion and functionality. The brand says its new line is designed to equip “Movers” with stylish essentials that allow them to stay comfortable and confident while active.

To celebrate the new launch, the brand has tapped fitness icon Jane Fonda as the face of the campaign. Fonda changed the way people worked out with her now-iconic home fitness tape, The Jane Fonda Workout, so the role made perfect sense. And she showed off some of her classic moves alongside choreographer JaQuel Knight in a fun video for the campaign, which was released yesterday.

“I’ve spent a lot of my own life getting people moving and I was naturally drawn to H&M Move’s mission to get the whole world moving, I also really liked their philosophy of ‘movement clothing’ instead of ‘sportswear,'” he shared Fonda in the edition. “For me, it’s not about sports or being the most athletic. It’s about giving your body the kind of movement it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you.”

The line doesn’t just cater to avid gym goers, though; the company says that “everyone on the planet” is now considered a “Move” just by moving.

“Removing barriers to sports is at the heart of our purpose, starting with the democratization of sportswear,” said Simon Brown, general manager of H&M Move, in a release. “We offer a wide range of movement apparel across several categories that are stylish, functional and offer incredible value to our customers. Combined with our passion to get everyone and every body moving, along with our porters Jane Fonda and Jakel Knight, we are truly inspired for the journey ahead.”

The first drop in the collection, which launched this week, features a variety of essentials that are made to be worn with every type of movement, from functional tops and lightweight jackets to bras and items designed specifically for running. Items start at just $13, with most falling in the $20 to $35 range.

The line, which includes models for women, men and children, is now available in 2,500 stores worldwide and on the H&M website. Read on to shop some of our favorite items from the new launch.

Speaking of high-waisted leggings, if you’re on the hunt for a new pair, these look like the perfect choice. They are designed to help shape your body by supporting, defining and slimming your figure. Sizes are already selling out, so we suggest adding a pair (or two) to your cart ASAP.
