FOLK SETS NFL RECORD FOR MOST MATCHING FIELD GOALS UNDER 50 YARDS

Nick Faulk extended his streak to 56 straight field goals under 50 yards with a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter to tie the NFL record held by Ryan Succop (2014-17 with Tennessee). Faulk’s last miss from inside the 50-yard line was a 45-yard field goal in the 2020 season opener against Miami on September 13.

JONES HAS SECOND-LONGEST CAREER TD TOS

QB Mac Jones connected with WR Nelson Agholor on a 44-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for the second-longest touchdown pass of his career. His longest touchdown pass came on a 75-yard completion to WR Kendrick Bourne for a touchdown against Dallas on October 17, 2021. The 44-yard reception is tied for the longest tie between Jones and Aholor. The two connected on a 44-yard pass at the LA Chargers on October 31, 2021. It was Jones’ longest completion of the season and his second 40-yard completion. He had a 41-yarder against Bourne in Miami in the season opener.

AGHOLOR HAS FIRST 100-YARD DAY AS PATRIOTS

WR Nelson Agholor had his first 100-yard receiving day as a member of the Patriots and seventh of his career, finishing with 6 receptions for 110 yards. His previous best as a member of the Patriots was 5 receptions for 72 yards in the 2021 season opener against Miami on September 12, 2021. Aholor is the first 100-yard receiver for New England since Jacoby Myers had 111 yards at Miami on Dec 20, 2020 This is Agholor’s first 100-yard game since he had a career-high 155 yards against Miami on Dec. 26, 2020 while with Las Vegas.

CB JALEN MILLS HAS FIRST PICK AS MEMBER OF PATRIOTS

CB Jalen Mills intercepted QB Mitch Trubisky’s pass after being redirected by LB Mack Wilson Sr. in the first quarter. It is Mills’ sixth career interception and first as a member of the Patriots since signing with the team in 2021. It was his first interception since October 22, 2020 against the New York Giants while playing for Philadelphia.

JACOBY MYERS LEADS TEAM WITH 9 RECEPTIONS

WR Jakobi Meyers finished the game with a team-leading 9 receptions for 95 yards. For the third time in his career, he finished with 9 or more receptions in a game. He had a career-high 12 receptions with the New York Jets on November 9, 2020, and 9 receptions against New Orleans on September 26, 2021.

LB JAHLANI TAVAI HAS FIRST SACK AS A MEMBER OF THE PATRIOTS

LB Jahlani Tavai sacked Pittsburgh QB Mitch Trubisky for a 5-yard loss on third down in the second quarter to hold the Steelers to a field goal. It was his first sack as a member of the Patriots and the first since he sacked Trubisky for an 8-yard loss at Chicago on November 10, 2019, when Tavai played for Detroit.

KYLE DUGGER RETURNS THE FIRST KICKS OF HIS 2020 Rookie SEASON.

Kyle Dugger returned a second-quarter kickoff 37 yards. It was his first kickoff return since returning a punt 30 yards at Seattle on September 20, 2020, followed by a 17-yard return the following week against Las Vegas on September 27, 2020.

ROOKIE DB BRENDEN SCHOOLER RECOVERS A PUNT TO SET UP FIRST AND GOAL

Rookie DB Brendan Schooler recovered WR Gunner Olszewski’s fumble in the third quarter to set up a first-and-goal situation for the Patriots on a drive that ended in a touchdown. It was the first fumble recovery since the Dec. 15, 2019 game at Cincinnati.

MATTHEW JUDON HAS BEEN FIRED FOR SECOND STRAIGHT GAME

LB Matthew Judon sacked QB Mitch Trubisky for a 4-yard loss with three seconds to play in the first half. He also had a 9-yard sack in the season opener at Miami. He leads the team with 12 ½ sacks in 2021. Today’s sack was his 49th career sack.

HARRIS RUNS 2-YARD FOR HIS 18TH CAREER TOUCHDOWN

RB Damien Harris scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for his 18th career touchdown. He needs two rushing touchdowns to become the 14th Patriots player to reach 20 career rushing touchdowns and five to move into the Top-10 in team history.
